Leanne Baumgartner's Medical Costs

Anyone who knows Leanne Baumgartner will describe her as an incredibly kind, caring, and compassionate person. Leanne loves her friends and family more than anything and would do anything to help when they are in need. Most who know her can think of a time (or many) when she did just that. Over the years, many close friends have become part of her family. Leanne raised two sons, who she is very proud of. She is even more proud when her grand kids call her Nana. She has a strong connection with nature, gardening, and the outdoors. She loves bird watching, working with flowers, and just relaxing in the sun with family and friends. In the past, she was able to travel to Ireland to explore her heritage and meet many amazing people she still keeps in touch with today.        When Leanne was in her 20s, she fought a hard battle with breast cancer. Afterwards, she took part in many support groups to help others who were going through a similar situation. As many of the treatments she underwent were new to medicine, the side effects were unknown. Unfortunately, many years later, Leanne is dealing with multiple side effects related to the chemotherapy and radiation she underwent. Due to the damage to her heart, she is currently on the heart transplant list at UW Madison. Leanne endures lab work, exams, or other tests almost daily. The cost related to these medical procedures, as well as the much needed prescription medications, travel, and transportation costs, are immense.

        Now it is time for us to return the kindness, caring, and compassion that Leanne has shown all of us. Leanne's friends and family have developed this page as they work to organize a benefit to raise money for her medical expenses.
