PUKATAWAGAN WILDFIRE RELIEF

Hello,

My name is Sabby and I am currently trying to raise funds for my family's community which has been affected by the wildfires in Northern Manitoba and surrounding areas.

Pukatawagan, also known as the Mathias Colomb Cree Nation has declared an emergency due to a severe wildfire burning only a few kilometres away. It is a remote fly in community located approximately 800km northwest of Winnipeg, MB.

For days the community was surrounded by fire with no way to leave - thousands of residents were stranded with the only airport closed, surrounded by ash & smoke and the power completely out...

Finally they are being evacuated via helicopter, however they have had to leave most of their belongings behind as they were only able to carry a small bag when evacuating - many have even had to leave their pets behind. At this time the wildfire is still completely out of control and there is no knowing when or if they will be able to go back home. Many have small children and elders with them and are desperately in need of donations.

ALL funds raised will be used to provide relief to the community - I will be delivering all items to the hotels they are staying at during evacuation.

THANK YOU so much to everyone who has donated so far. With this money so far I have purchased essential items, kids clothing and toys, and food.

We managed to gather so many donations for yesterday, and hundreds of people showed up. We also took this chance to speak with more people and ask what items they need the most.

AS OF NOW, we do NOT need anymore adult clothing except for new and packaged underwear and socks(both mens and womens, but mens seemed to be in high demand.) AS A REMINDER, PLEASE ONLY NEW AND PACKAGED.

With the remaining money, I will be going back to Niagara Falls a second time to purchase more kids toys, underwear, socks, formula, snacks, and strollers if possible.
