Puerto Vallarta Family Covid Hospital Fee Support

Hi, My name is Shelley Smith, I am a nurse working for Island Health.

I am fundraising for Eduardo Aguirre Garcia and his family. I have known them for 7+years. Their 64year old Father is struggling with COVID-19 & Pneumonia in the Hospital in Puerto Vallarta. Their father is a local butcher, the family hired a home Doctor and he was on Oxygen at home, but now he has been admitted to hospital and requires treatment costing $5000 Canadian per day. This sounds unreasonable but, this is the actual cost of a one day stay in a Mexican Hospital. His son has used all of his and his fathers savings for treatments so far. Please if you can help, the family would be very grateful. Thank-you for your support.

Aug 17 update Eduardos father continues in Hospital with 02 Administering continuously, Eduardo’s father did speak a few words to him, and is very grateful for everyone’s help.

The Oxygen treatment needs to be continued, with an Oxygen Concentrator.

Eduardo is not able to move his father at this time as the public hospitals only have three 02 Concentrators and at this time they are being used by other Covid patients in Puerto Vallarta.

Because of the inequality of Healthcare in the world, this is a tragic situation for this and other families stricken with Covid in Mexico.
