Gina's battle with cancer

Our very close and dear family member, Gina Smith, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4B cervical cancer and is going through a challenging time in her life. To say we are crushed is an understatement. If you know her, you know she is a genuinely wonderful person. She is cheerful, loving, and giving and constantly puts her friends and family ahead of her needs.

It was initially thought to be stage 3. After further testing, it was discovered to be stage 4B and has moved to her lungs. She had a lung biopsy on 10/24, and we await the severity of those masses. Stage 4B cervical cancer is inoperable; however, she started the most intense chemotherapy available to slow the growth and lessen the symptoms. The chemo treatments will be ongoing over the next few months. Because of this, she will miss more work to undergo treatments. We are working on getting her on short-term disability. Even with that, it won't provide full pay. Some of her medical expenses are not covered, and with the everyday necessities of life and prices of everything skyrocketing, money is getting tighter.

Gina is one of the best people I know. She is strong, selfless, and always puts others before herself.
