Ducks and ducklings are being struck by cars at the entrance and exit of the Crescent Hill Garage on the University of South Florida (USF) Tampa Campus. We’re raising funds to install a double-sided duck crossing sign. The quote for the sign is $750+, but thanks to a generous matching donation, we need to raise $375 to $400, as every dollar you give will be doubled!
Ducks are a beloved part of the USF Tampa Campus, but they face serious danger when crossing the busy entrance and exit of the Crescent Hill Garage (USF Holly Court), as pictured above.
Sadly, both adult ducks and ducklings have already been struck by cars this semester (since August 25th), showing just how urgent it is to take action.
We were quoted $750+ to install a double-sided, reflective duck crossing sign, which covers materials, installation, and tax. The sign will alert drivers at the lower garage entrance and exit, helping make the campus safer for both ducks and drivers.
Thanks to a generous matching donation, we need to raise $375 to $400, as every dollar you give will be doubled. Big or small, each contribution will help protect our feathered friends and show that the community values its wildlife.
The following blurred images may be upsetting, but they reflect the harsh reality that our campus ducks face every day.
