Iris House (formerly Cork Cancer Care Centre) has been a beacon of hope, comfort, and healing for people affected by cancer across Cork and beyond for over a decade. We offer free counselling, holistic therapies, and practical supports — all designed to help individuals and families navigate the emotional and physical challenges that cancer brings.
Our service is unique. We are home to the only free wig bank in Ireland, providing dignity and confidence to those undergoing treatment. Additionally, we run initiatives like Blankets of Hope, a community-driven project that provides comforting, handmade blankets to cancer patients — a simple but powerful symbol of love and solidarity. Every day, we offer a safe, welcoming space where no one feels alone in their fight against cancer.
Now, Iris House itself is under threat.
The building we call home is being sold, and we are at risk of losing the heart of everything we have built. We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase the building and secure a permanent home for Iris House — but we urgently need your help to make it happen.
We need to raise €300,000 to buy the building and ensure that our doors stay open for the people who need us most. Without Iris House, many vulnerable individuals and families would lose access to vital free support services at a time when they need them most.
We are asking for your support.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us secure the future of Iris House.
By contributing, you are not just helping to buy a building — you are helping to preserve a sanctuary of hope, care, and strength for those facing cancer. You’re also supporting initiatives like Blankets of Hope that provide comfort to those battling cancer in our community.
Please stand with us.
Help us save Iris House.
Help us make it a permanent home for healing, support, and hope.
From all of us at Iris House, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
