Protect Aya Amsee, and those she cares for
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bee, from Australia. I've been asked by Alaa to create this fundraiser for her relative Aya Amsee from Rafah (currently in Deir al-Balah), who says:
"This is my little family. We live in a small tent. We were displaced from Rafah after all our dreams, ambitions and everything were destroyed. I need you to help me build a better future for my family and save them from the hell of genocide."
Abtihal, aunt (50)
Tahrir, aunt (40)
Muhammad Younis, dad (35)
Aya Amsee, mum (34)
Sama, daughter (10)
Hala, daughter (9)
Obaida, son (7)
Ahmed, son (5)
Adam, son (2)
The aunts are sisters of Muhammad, who provides for them, while Aya looks after them. Abtihal has cancer... Alaa describes them as old, but they are younger than my own parents. It sorrows me to think of how I, too, would struggle to provide for them under the same circumstances.
Aya's house was bombed, so even if peace were declared tomorrow, this family would still have nowhere to return home to. Whether they will choose to stay and rebuild or seek a new life elsewhere is unknown, but in the meantime: you can be a force for good in the world and contribute to their continued survival.
Our first fundraising target is the minimum amount that will make a meaningful difference in their lives: $1000 AUD. I am hoping that this will buy them a bag of flour, which might last a week. Here's an article about the price of food in Gaza at the moment.
After that, I will increase the goal in $1k increments to a maximum of $10k, at which time I will update this campaign with what the family has decided to do next.
