PROOF SOCIAL CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

As you all know, Proof has been going through it these last couple weeks. Sunday, June 23rd a large pipe burst on the fourth floor of the Blaisdell Hotel directly above the bar. Proof was totally flooded, their breaker box was fried, music gear was damaged and destroyed, and even more labor costs were incurred to clean up the mess in order to reopen for business on Monday.

This happened just a COUPLE OF DAYS after the major power outage in Chinatown, which we all know, left them as well as multiple business, unable to open resulting in not only lost inventory but also a significant loss in revenue. Those revenue losses coupled with the cost of replacing product and equipment is devastating. Insurance will not cover the sales loss from being non-operational for days, and may not reimburse them for all of the costs associated with back-to-back disasters. In the meantime, Proof has to front the cost of EVERYTHING to even begin to recoup. This small business does not have investors or financial backers, and these unexpected costs are more than an obstacle to overcome ….they could put Proof under permanently. 

 Proof (Proof Public House and The Mercury Bar before them) has been a home and safe place for myself, our community, creatives, weirdos, misfits and everyone in between. It has given us a stage, an escape, a place to cultivate all our passions, and a space to build a community. Their doors have always been open to everyone and their walls hold memories beyond memories for all of us. The legacy of the bar on Chaplain Lane resonates in all of us. That being said, being the hidden gem off the beaten path of Chinatown also has its downside. I am asking a small favor, for me, for us,.. f*ck ,for everyone!
