Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive of Sissy’s Mission in Haiti. Despite the challenges of a very poor country in the middle of a pandemic our bakery continues to operate although not at our goal level. With your support we have kept children in school with scholarships. Last year you generously supported us with $17,308 in donations.  That made a big difference for these people in need.  Your continued support is appreciated.
An update from Sissy is below:
The Boulangerie was established with the goal of creating jobs---a community---an identified need. In addition to a living wage, bakery workers receive scholarships for their education or their children’s education.                                        2020 has been a challenging year in Haiti. Because of travel restrictions I have been unable to be in Haiti with our bakery workers. Sales are down as a result of the virus and subsequent restrictions. However, the bakery is still working on a reduced schedule and we are still selling bread. More importantly because of the generosity of your scholarship gifts the children are going to school. Their education is a primary focus of our efforts in Haiti and part of the solution for this poverty-stricken country.

In addition to the bakery operation, we are going to launch a water business out of the bread location. Quality water is precious in Haiti and we are going to install a water purification system that will produce 5-gallon jugs of water for sale in the Ley Cayes Area.

The scholarships which are a result of your generosity are really the best thing we can do to help the people of Haiti

This is a good summary of what has been accomplished in the last five years:

God Bless,
Sissy
