Hurricane Melissa Relief: Rebuilding Cove Road, Lambs River, Bethel Town, Seaford Town, Rat Trap and other surrounding areas in Westmoreland, Jamaica

The Heartbreak in My Hometown

Hello, my name is Mark Vincent, and my heart is breaking for my hometown, Cove Road , Westmoreland, Jamaica. I now live in Pennsylvania, USA, but Cove Road is where I grew up and where my family and many loved ones still reside.
Hurricane Melissa has torn through our community and surrounding areas of Westmoreland leaving a trail of unimaginable devastation. The storm’s stripped away more than just roofs, it has shattered lives, leaving many of our resilient community members with absolutely nothing. The Catastrophic Impact in Westmoreland has been one of the hardest hit areas.
Homes are demolished and many individuals and families have lost their homes entirely or suffered severe structural damage, leaving them without shelter. Livelihoods are completely destroyed. This hurricane has wiped out livestock, crops, and small businesses, which were the sole source of income for many families. Basic necessities are scarce, including access to clean water, food, and medicine is a critical immediate need.
Our neighbors, friends, and family are traumatized, struggling to salvage what little they can. They are faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. I am working closely with Mrs Angela Cormack JP who is the interim Principal at Mont Herman Primary School in Lambs River, Westmoreland. Mrs Cormack is on the ground to ensure complete transparency and that every donation is distributed to those who need it most. The spirit of the community is strong, but they cannot do this alone.
Donate any amount, no matter how small. Your contribution is a beacon of hope. Please share this campaign with your entire network via social media, email, and word of mouth. The wider we spread the word, the faster we can rebuild. Keep the people of Westmoreland in your thoughts and prayers as they begin this long journey of recovery.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for helping me bring hope and healing back to the place I will always call home. Out of Many, One People. Together, we can help Jamaica rise again.
