Preserve 1882 Iowa Narrow Gauge Boxcars
Tax deductible
Hello! We are the Midwest Narrow Gauge Preservation Society. A 501c3 aimed at preserving Midwest narrow gauge railroad history. One of our first major projects we are working on, is restoring two narrow gauge boxcars from the Fort Madison & Northwestern Railway that ran in Southeast Iowa. This pair of boxcars, which we are hoping to restore, were built in 1882 by the Ohio Falls company. These cars only operated for 10 years before being parked on a farm not far from the original right of way. Our organization is hoping to restore the boxcars to how they would have looked in 1882. Currently, there are only 4 known Iowa Narrow Gauge boxcars, and these are half of them. Donations will help us secure lumber and other necessary materials for their stabilization and restoration.
