Melissa Shattles Norsworthy is 44 years old and married to Nick Norsworthy. In July 2015 Melissa was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and it had spread to her liver. Emergency surgery was performed to remove a ruptured portion of the colon and soon afterward an aggressive chemo treatment was started.
Through all of this Melissa has remained upbeat and as positive as anyone could be, never denying her faith or losing hope. Nick has stood beside her every step of the way and been her constant help mate but has had to forgo his job as a cross country driver in order to do so. Only with the help of prayer and donations have they been able to persist through these very difficult times, but by the grace of God they have maintained their strength, and while the battle hasn't been won, there has been a gift of time that cannot be taken for granted.
