Porter's Story - Support his fight against Leukemia.

On August 27th 2024, my dear friends Michelle and Carl received devastating news that no parent should ever have to face—their 4-year-old son, Porter, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Their lives were turned upside down in an instant. Porter was rushed by ambulance to Sydney Children’s Hospital, 2.5 hours from home, where days of testing confirmed the heartbreaking diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Since that day, Porter has been undergoing intensive treatment, which will continue until at least July 2026. His time is now divided between the hospital and the Ronald McDonald House, where his resilience shines through even the hardest days. Michelle and Carl are doing everything they can to hold their family together. One parent stays in Sydney with Porter, while the other commutes back and forth to care for their 3 year-old daughter, Mila, and keep their business afloat. To be there for his family, Carl has had to cut back his work hours, adding to the financial strain as they balance the demands of Porter’s treatment, their business, and their family.

For four months, they have been navigating the uncertainty, emotional strain, and financial challenges that come with Porter’s diagnosis. Despite it all, Michelle and Carl remain steadfast, drawing strength from their love for their children and the support of their family, friends, and community.

Many people have asked how they can help. I’ve created this page for anyone who feels moved to support them. Financial contributions, no matter the size, will help ease the burden of being away from home and their business, as well as cover unforeseen expenses. Most importantly, it will give Michelle and Carl the ability to focus on what matters most, trying to be together as a family during this unimaginably difficult time.
