Hi, my name is Aaron.

I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for help, but today, I’m asking from the bottom of my heart.

I’m asking you to help my best friend, my brother in every way that matters, fight the hardest battle of his life.

Nine years ago, my partner and I met Kev and his wife at an antenatal class. What started as a simple introduction quickly became something far more meaningful. From that day on, our families lives have been intertwined, through laughter, celebrations, challenges, and tears.

Kev is one of the kindest, most genuine men you could ever meet. He has been the friend I didn’t even realise I was missing all my life, funny, loyal, compassionate, and endlessly supportive.

Now he is facing cancer.

He has endured surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy with a strength that humbles everyone around him. His courage shines through every single day. But the reality is that the odds are against him, and the options are becoming fewer.

Kevin has Sinonasal high-grade intestinal-type adenocarcinoma (ITAC) which is a rare, aggressive epithelial tumor of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses and this is the hardest part, I can’t fix this for him.

I don’t have the clinical knowledge to find the miracle treatment. I don’t have the wealth to remove the financial burden this fight brings. But I do have love for him. And I have the ability to ask for help.

This fundraiser is about hope.

It’s about exploring every possible avenue, alternative treatments, specialist consultations, travel expenses, or simply easing the financial pressure on his incredible wife and their two beautiful daughters during this unimaginable time. At this stage, we don’t know exactly what will be needed, we just know that we want to be ready for every possible outcome.

Over the coming months, I’ll be doing everything I can to raise money from running, cycling, swimming, charity bake-offs, giveaways, rope in my partner, children and friends, probably embarrassing myself more than once.
