Please Support Luis and His Family

Hi all – we’re Mark and Tanya, and we are raising money for the family of our beloved doorman, Luis Maisonet. For over 30 years, Luis has been the lifeblood of our West Village building and the mayor of our block. During that time, he has consistently gone above and beyond at our building’s front desk during his shifts, while also always lending a helping hand to us and our neighbors with anything and everything, big or small. Three of Luis’ most notable hallmarks are his work ethic, willingness to help and generosity of spirit. To many of us, Luis is like family.

Sadly, Luis is now confined to a hospital bed fighting a cancer diagnosis, and as a result, recently had to go on medical leave/disability. While disability ensures continued insurance coverage, it in no way pays the bills.

Accordingly, we are raising money to assist Luis’ family directly with the payment of day-to-day expenses and hospital bills and would love it if you would honor Luis by making a donation. The need for funds is timely and any amount, however big or small, is greatly appreciated. Please note that his wife is the beneficiary of this fundraiser and is authorized to receive all funds.
