After being diagnosed with end-stage heart failure in mid December, Matthew has spent the past two months in a battle no family ever expects to face. He has undergone two major, life-saving open-heart surgeries, including the placement of a mechanical heart pump, to keep him alive while he waits for a heart transplant — his only chance at a second life.

This journey has turned the Jamieson family’s world upside down.

Matthew was self-employed, and his business venture is now being abruptly put on hold. Amanda has stepped away from everything to become his full-time caregiver as he prepares to return home with complex medical needs.

With no steady income and significant new expenses ahead, the financial strain is overwhelming.

When Matthew comes home, he will require specialized equipment, home modifications that are currently taking place, a backup generator to protect his life-sustaining medical device, medications, travel for frequent hospital appointments, and ongoing daily care. These are not optional — they are essential to keeping him safe while he waits for his transplant.

Despite everything, Matthew’s strength remain unshaken. Amanda stands faithfully by his side, and together they are determined to fight for their family and their future.
