Hi, my name is Sandra Smith. I am doing a fundraiser for Shelby Stephens. She has been recently diagnosed with small cell(oat cell) cancer of the lungs that has spread to her bones. Shelby is retired from a local hospital where she worked as a nurse in ICU. She was a very good nurse who cared for her patients with great attention to their needs. Besides being a great nurse she is a wonderful mother and grandmother and friend. Shelby is being treated with the newer immunotherapy drugs that are having great success over the past few years. With each treatment there is a 2000.00 copay. She has a treatment every three weeks. She has another medicine that she gets every 28 days that costs her over 800.00.
