Help a two year old beat cancer!!
Donativo protegido
Dom and his parents live in Guatemala. He is a 2 year old full of life and eager to explore the world around him. Unfortunately, if he doesn't get help soon, he will be doing so with only one eye. At this young age he has already been diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a cancer that starts in the retina, which if left untreated will soon result in loss of vision and in removal of his eye to prevent spreading.
Since he was diagnosed in 2019, he has been treated with systemic chemotherapy at this point, he has had 9 cycles, all in a pediatric hospital under the care of oncologists. Unfortunately, the treatments he has received will not give him the chance to preserve his vision or even more, his eye.
After several consultations with specialized pediatric oncologists and ophthalmologists, Dominique is a strong candidate for intra arterial chemotherapy as a last chance to save his eye. This procedure is known for being complex and costly, and sadly, their country does not support this treatment. Guatemala is a poor country and the care Dom needs will likely need to come from a neighboring country such as Mexico or Colombia. His parents will likely have to travel to one of these countries in search for the necessary medical treatment soon. Any help is greatly appreciated.
