Please Help Our Hero Fight Cancer!

Donation protected
Our neighbor Chuck, is one of the toughest, most optimistic, selfless, and giving human
beings I know. He has had the single greatest impact on our lives, and we cannot fathom a world without him.

He was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and he needs immediate assistance with gas and accommodations. Chuck will begin Proton Therapy Treatment at Loma Linda
Hospital on July 11th, and in order to receive the necessary treatments, he will need to
travel 200 miles RT 5 days/week for 8 weeks and seek accommodations. This will be a HUGE hardship for him and his wife, Grace.

Grace and Chuck are extremely resilient, but sometimes too much is too much. Grace’s
son is also undergoing a significant cancer treatment, and she cannot physically be in two places at one time. Chuck will need to drive himself to his appointments, and if that is not
feasible, he will need lodging near the hospital. NOBODY should have to worry
about whether or not they receive the best medical treatment available to them because
they cannot afford travel expenses. NOBODY.

Chuck wouldn’t dream of asking for a dime, and he will probably give me a good talking to when he finds out about this Go Fund Me, but that’s ok. That's what friends do…we take
care of each other, and Chuck and Grace have taken care of Isaac, Tallulah and I for five
long years.

We will be loaning our vehicle to reduce gas costs (his old Jeep gets 8 mpg), AND…the car will make his long daily rides much more comfortable. (He’s also battling a bad hip that is
extremely painful and makes using a stick shift tough).

I’ve never done a “Go Fund Me”…not even for art projects, but I’m asking now if you can
PLEASE help us help him. Every single dollar will truly make a difference for Chuck and
Grace.

As a single mom running two businesses, living on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere,
with no family anywhere in sight, I can honestly say that I do not know what the kids and I would do without Chuck. He has taught me everything I know about electric, plumbing,
pool care, construction, and roofing, so that I could rebuild our hot springs house and list it on AirBnB. This was an enormous gift that helps us put food on the table, and allows me to run an arts organization that employs many artists and supports thousands of kids.

Chuck and Grace are family. They’ve dropped the kids off at basketball practice when I’m not able, fed us when we were tired, and helped take care of me when I had kidney
surgery.

Chuck is our touchstone, our cheerleader, and our teacher, and we would like to keep him around as long as we possibly can.

If you can please donate a few dollars to his gas and lodging funds, we would be forever
grateful!

With great love,
Rhonda, Isaac, and Tallulah
