Hi, I’m Rocco – Please Help Me Heal

Hello, my name is Rocco, and I’m 6 years old.

I woke up today — Friday, the 13th of June — and let me tell you, it wasn’t a lucky day for me. My amazing human mum rushed me to the vet. That’s when we found out I have something called a perineal hernia. I didn’t fully understand it — I’m just a dog, and all I want is cuddles and love — but my mum started crying, and that’s when I knew something was wrong.

The vet told her something heartbreaking:

If I don’t get surgery soon, I don’t have long to live.

Right now, I’m in pain, and it’s getting harder to go to the toilet and do normal dog things. If the hernia gets worse or becomes trapped, it could be fatal. And I’m scared — not for myself, but for my mum. I see how worried she is, and that breaks my heart.

I don’t want to go yet. I still have so many more of my mum’s hugs to enjoy, more sunny spots to lie in, more tail wags to give, and more years to love and protect my family — even if I bark too much sometimes.

And please… don’t judge my mum for cancelling my insurance.

She loves me more than anything. She fought for me, but the dog insurance companies were honestly robbing her in broad daylight — raising costs for things they didn’t even cover. She made a hard choice to stand up for herself, and now, sadly, my surgery — which costs £3,500 — isn’t covered.

That’s why we’re here.
