Plant trees to aid hunger, animals, & the climate
Hi, my name is Rylie Colbert. I am a 10th grader at Notre Dame High School, so there is not a lot I can do for the climate by myself. However, if we don't push for a better climate and less CO2 emissions, I might not have a future.
I am using the environmental charity One Tree Planted, which is a charity dedicated to planting trees and saving the earth, to plant trees all over the world. They plant trees in Northern and Southern America in The United States, Canada, Mexico, The Amazon rainforest, The Andes, Columbia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Brazil, Peru, Haiti, and Honduras. They also contribute to forests in Africa and Asia in Uganda, Indonesia including Borneo and Sumatra, Asian Mangroves, The Philipines, Vietnam, Cote D'Ivoire, Kenya, Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda, India, Morocco, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, and Madagascar. Additionally, One Tree Planted reforests European and Oceanic regions including Australia, New Zealand, Denmark Iceland Romania, and Spain.
My goal is for 1000 trees in every location. Trees are planted In India, Sumatra, and Uganda to protect the wildlife. In India One tree Planted plants trees to protect elephants and tigers, in Sumatra, they work with indigenous peoples to protect Sumatran orangutans, and in Uganda, they collaborate with the Jane Goodall Institute to protect its chimpanzees. If your money goes toward planting trees in Morocco, Nicaragua, or Ethiopia, those trees will not only produce food to help the hungry, but they will provide shade and rich soil for other farming and planting. In North America, The trees planted will help heal the forest after forest fires. Lastly, trees planted for example in Brazil, Peru, Madagascar, have the intention of taking a large portion of CO2 out of the air. These trees will also improve the water cycle and increase the fertility of the soil. Although the trees in Brazil, Peru, or Madagascar were planted to decrease carbon in the atmosphere, any tree planted in any of the 33 locations will help lower greenhouse gasses. Please, help these chimpanzees and elephants whose ecosystems are just starting to revive.
Help the people who are starving, and give them a stable food source. Lastly, help stop climate change, and help the earth heal so that the children of today can have a future. Not only would I be eternally grateful for your help, but my generation and the ones after it could not thank you enough.
