I have many childhood memories from the nine years I lived amongst the Cadoshi Indians in the Peruvian rainforest. My name to my playmates was not Renay; but “Tor-eekee”. I had not thought of what I ate or drank; but lived and played like I was part of the tribe. I now have a great opportunity to return to the same area as an integral member of a medical/education mission trip. Our team will provide medical treatment and basic health related education to the tribal women and children. The journey will begin in Iquitos, where we will travel 12 hours by river boat to the indigenous territory. Once there, it is a two hour walking hike thru the jungle to get to the tribe.

I need your financial help to make this possible. I leave on February 2 for 15 days. Each team member is responsible for collecting $3,000. These funds will be donated to the tribe, and portions will be utilized for medicine, medical/health supplies, and transportation of the materials. Once we get to the tribe we sleep in a one man tent that we have to bring with us. There are no bathroom facilities. We will consume the meals indigenous to the tribe and live according to their customs. It is our objective to protect and sustain their way of life, by providing the basic necessities to increase their health and longevity.
