Penumbra Film

Najaa Young and Naima Royal have partnered together to create the Penumbra Film Project. Our first film, "Stranger", will go into production mid-July.  As two African - American artists we understand the importance of diversity and representation in the film industry in front and behind the camera. By creating original content we are able to create dynamic and unique characters and stories.

"Stranger" is a black speculative film in this anthology. 

Synopsis:
Marcus, a laid back twenty-something, takes weekly bike rides through the woods to the river so he can relax and ponder the great questions of life with the aid of his marijuana filled vape pen. One afternoon when pondering away he sees the impossible-- a man disappear then reappear in front of him-- Marcus must then decide if he imagined it or is his weed-filled vape pen playing tricks on him? 
 

Your contributions will be used towards the production costs such as equipment rental, set design, location fees, crew, and cast wages. We hope to reach our goal by July. 4th, so that we can stay on schedule with our production. Your support will provide the resources need to make this film a success!
