Dear PAUSA art house community,
As of August 17th, we became aware that the New York State Liquor Authority clarified their rules and regulations about live music indoors and outdoors - prohibiting the listing, promotion, advertisement of music shows as well and the sale of music tickets. However, licensed music venues like us are still allowed to have incidental live music as long as “ we do not be create a situation where music is the draw for the patrons. Music should be incidental to dining only”.
While we have adapted to all restrictions and regulations put into place to keep us all safe, the added financial burden to our business threatens the core of our existence: live music and the livelihood of our performing musicians.
As there are many of us who continue to face the struggle we have been through and that which awaits us, I have been hesitant and troubled to make you responsible for ours. However, I can not continue our mission forward without your help. It is for all these reasons that I kindly ask you to help us keep yours and our dream alive.
Your donation will allow us temporarily compensate our performing musicians for at PAUSA as well as to help with operational expenses we may incur on low attendance nights so we can remain open despite last minute cancellations or “no shows”.
Nothing we do will be enough in our obligation and commitment to keep us all safe and I fully understand the decision many of you have had to make to not physically attend our venue.
Not all is lost I would like to believe, there will be better times ahead and for that, your contribution and support will be an important part in moving forward, an inspirational lesson on how we care for the things we cherish, respect and love.
I would like to thank you all for your continuing support throughout all these years , not before wishing you good health above all things. I wish you the strength and resilience we all need to overcome this difficult times and hope to meet on the other side with bigger dreams and endless aspirations.
