Paul Antkowiak's Medical Costs

I am reaching out to our CorVel family so we can gather together to support one of our own.

 

Paul Antkowiak started working with CorVel Corporation 5 years ago as our first New England dedicated Claims Supervisor. Paul hit the ground running by creating a full team and has not stopped. Whenever you need anything, Paul is the first to assist you. He is a wonderful team player and team motivator.

 

Paul is a family man, devoted to his wife, parents, brothers, his sons, step son, step daughter and six grandchildren. Paul is an avid hockey fan, rooting for his sons first, then the Bruins. Paul loves the beach … Shoes, not so much :) Paul married his wife Paula on the beach less than one year ago.

 

On June 5th Paul thought he had Covid so his wife took him to the emergency room. Paul was diagnosed with a large brain tumor and transported to Mass General. The doctors performed a 6 hour surgery to remove the tumor. They were able to remove 98% of the tumor. Paul is currently in Rehab to regain his strength and retrain his brain. He will be in Rehab until July 14th. On June 24th the results from the biopsy were in, Paul was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer with no known cure. Due to Paul's positive outlook, youth, and health, he has been recommended for trial treatment. The trial treatment will consist of radiation and chemotherapy. Testing at Mass General Cancer Center will begin on July 8th. It is anticipated that the trial will begin on July 18th. Due to the fact that this is a trial it is only partially covered by insurance. At this point, the total out-of-pocket expense is unknown.
