Our family lost a beloved member. On May 25, 2013, while walking with friends from his house in East Atlanta to a restaurant a few blocks away, Patrick Cotrona, was held up by gunpoint, shot and killed.
Smart, witty, kind and loyal. At 33 years old, Patrick had accomplished more than most can imagine in a lifetime, and yet, his life was cut short before he could do so much more. Patrick graduated from GaTech with highest honors, loved and brewed his own beer, played video and board games and was a computer engineer. But his highest accomplishment ever was to be loved by so many family and friends.
The killers are still out there. Between the city and private donations, CrimeStoppers has raised more than $30,000 in reward funds, but the right tip still hasn't come through. Why? Because we need to get the message in front of the right people "“ the people who have information that can lead to the arrest and prosecution of Patrick's killers. No matter how much money we raise, if the people who know something don't see our message, justice will remain unfinished.
My family is raising funds with a new purpose. The Cotrona family would like to raise funds that will go towards advertising my brother's case, including the sketches of the suspected killers, on flyers, billboards, and TV advertisements. Please consider donating to this fund; we are grateful for any amount you can give. We can't bring my brother back, but we can put those responsible behind bars.
To all of our family, friends and the Atlanta community, thank you for your support!
