Please consider donating to help Patrick and his family with the exorbitant medical bills accrued over his 2 1/2 week stay in 2 hospitals including 4 days in the ICU and surgery as he battled septic shock and acute renal failure resulting from the H1N1 flu and a strep infection. His treatment and recovery continues post-discharge as well. Any amount is much-appreciate!

From Patrick:

GOD IS GOOD!!!

Love and Greetings. I’ve been off the grid due to being diagnosed with the Flu (H1N1) at Urgent Care, on Super Bowl Sunday. I was not feeling any better. Monday the 3rd of February I went to Soin hospital emergency room. Turned out that I had Septic Shock with Acute Renal Failure. They put in a central line (IV in my neck) and had me in ICU from 3rd to the 6th of February. My heart rate was dangerously high and my blood pressure was dangerously low. My fevers at times were 104° or higher. My entire left side was covered in blisters, and my kidneys stopped working. An infectious disease specialist finally determined that the sepsis was caused by the Strep bacteria. Usually this bacteria gives people strep throat, but because my immune system was tied up with the flu, it bypassed all the normal defenses and entered into my blood. I was started on aggressive antibiotics until I was stable enough to be transferred to a regular room, where I stayed for the next 8 days. Soin had me transported to Kettering on Valentine’s Day to prep for surgery. They had to drain fluid off my lungs and clean infection out of my chest muscle on the 15th. After surgery, a chest tube and wound vac were put on. The chest tube was taken out on the 17th, and I will go home with the wound vac for a short period of time. Last night I was given a blood transfusion to boost my red blood cell count. I am being released from Kettering Today!!!! I Never let go of God’s unchanging hand through this ordeal. When you have a TRUE Relationship with God you will feel it and get through anything. THIS IS MY TESTIMONY!

To those of you who knew what was going on, thank you so much for your prayers and for checking in on my family. Keep the prayers coming.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:17KJV
