Race Against the Cold

Hi – I am Raphael, an exchange student at Queen’s University and a road cyclist. I want to bike from Kingston to Washington DC and create a fundraising for homeless people. 1000 kilometers in one week, riding in freezing December – I call it the Race Against The Cold. I want to rase awareness how vulnerable people are even more affected by winter’s cold – homeless people with very few possibilities to get warm food or shelter.

Youth make up the fastest-growing population of homeless people in Canada, they account for one in five of the people living in homeless shelters.
The Kingston Youth Shelter provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and family support for homeless youth ages 16-24 in Kingston. Your donation moves young people out of poverty, and stabilizes their housing, food, and financial security.

Why do I do that? Because I strongly believe that every youth should have the same possibilities, regardless of their social background. Nobody should freeze in the winter, but to develop and be able to study.

Let’s race against the cold – I cycle and freeze, you help the ones who are most affected by the cold. Let’s reach 2,000 Dollars together for the young homeless community - Donate today. Thank you.

Follow @raceagainstthecold on Instagram to see the progress!
The tour starts on Monday, the 4th if December.
