Overcomers: Stories and Songs by 5 Women of Color.

My name is Fostina Dixon, and I've written a musical revue called “5 Women.” This musical revue, inspired by Nina Simone's "Four Women," tells the stories of strong, successful women of color who overcome social, racial and gender injustices. “5 Women” will be presented at the Delaware Theater Company on August 6-7, 2021 at 6:30 pm.

“5 Women” can be any 5 women over 40 at any given time telling their story as a musician or vocalist. The play includes dialogue, acting and music performance.

I am asking for sponsorship for some of the ladies performing in “5 Women.” Your support will help the performers with transportation costs, hotel accommodations, their stipend for the performance and production costs. Most of the funds have been provided by Delaware Division of the Arts. Our goal is to raise $1,500 to help supplement costs.
