Hi my name is Audrey Worm, I just became a professional Top Fuel driver in the NHRA MelloYello Drag Racing series. In 2018 we plan to run a Top Fuel dragster at 6-8 events nationwide to bring awareness to the Michael J. Fox foundation (MJFF).
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
My tie to Parkinson's is my father and my grandfather. My grandfather passed away in 2010 from complications of PD when I was 18 years old. My dad was diagnosed in 2004 with PD and has become disabled in the last few years, unable to do the work that has brought me to this point in my career. My dad was a chassis builder and built front engine dragsters and became the number one builder in the US. I started my career driving a Jr Dragster, and as soon as I was 16 years old, I jumped into my dad's front engine dragster shop car. I competed in that car for 8 years and went as fast as 165MPH. My life long goal was to race a Top Fuel Dragster in NHRA competition since I was a kid, and now that I have my Top Fuel license, I am ready to see my goal come true. The following is me making a license run at over 287 mph.
But racing is not all about yourself. I believe you should give back and be charitable whenever possible. My idea is to field a Top Fuel dragster with the "Outrun PD" paintjob on it in 2018. The dragster will bring awareness to the fight against Parkinson's Disease. Not only my dad's fight, but the fight of the millions of people afflicted with this disabling disease. Team Fox at the Michael J. Fox Foundation will recieve any donations at the races we attend and race fans will be able to go online to contribute to the fight. Our goal is to raise 1 Million dollars in 2018 by doing interviews, racing the car, and being at shows and races nationwide.
The money raised in this go fund me campaign is to help fund our 2018 season to race the "Outrun PD" Top Fuel Dragster. Any extra money donated will go directly to Team Fox to fight Parkinson's Disease. While we may not be the quickest or fastest dragster at the races, we have a mission that we will not stop until we acheive.
