Donation protected
After the Notre Dame fire there was an overwhelming amount of support and condolences sent to the people of France. Over One Billion Dollars raised already for the restoration effort. And yet there sits three Black Churches in Louisiana that were purposefully burned down and they have not raised enough money to begin rebuilding yet. I say again, we all need to take care of home first. We are all Americans and must stand together with each other in times of difficulty and extreme hate. I ask that you donate so that these three churches are able to rise from the ashes even more beautiful and bigger than before. All money raised will be split evenly among the three Black Churches ( Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Greater Union Baptist, and St. Mary's Baptist Church) that were purposefully burned down by a racist. My family grew up in Louisiana and many times took me to worship at the Greater Union Baptist Church. It was a wonderful experience and many of the parishioners taught me many things. It is sad that we must raise money to restore a House of God that was purposefully destroyed and I am saddened but simultaneously honored that I am capable of helping to rebuild Our Black Churches. On Easter Sunday the Greater Union Baptist Church packed into a plain, windowless room in a private Masonic lodge with plastic folding chairs to hold their Easter service with their spirits still intact. The strength of God is miraculous. Upon completion of our GoFundMe campaign we will be traveling to Louisiana personally to present a check to each of the the Churches that were purposefully burned down. The funds will be withdrawn to a personal account and the check presented to the Churches will be drawn from that private account as is usual. We will drive to St. Landry Parish to present the checks to the Pastors of each of the burned down Churches, Reverend Gerald Toussaint of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Pastor Harry Richard of Greater Union Baptist, and Pastor Kyle Sylvester of St. Mary's Baptist Church. This is a personal fundraising event raising money to help rebuild Our Churches. We are currently not in contact with any of the Pastors of the burned down Churches and are privately raising this money for Our Churches. We will stream the event live on the internet and read every donors name aloud so that their contributions will be acknowledged.
