Our last chance for Baby Mac (IVF)
Spende geschützt
We are Beccy & Graham currently live in Castleford, we've been married for 6 years and we have been trying to complete our little jigsaw puzzle for even longer.
Together we have been on a journey that we wouldn't want anyone else to walk but sadly some do.
It all started Month after Month we having negative pregnancy tests and from then we started our infertility journey.
After numerous blood tests, scans, hospital appointments we were on our way to our first round of IVF (fresh cycle) sadly due to my body not responding as it should to the stimulation meds, I only produced ONE potential viable embryo. We were about to embark our first embryo collection and we had the devastating phone call from the hospital to advise against any further fertility treatment due to the fact that my previous hip replacement was poisoning my blood. At this stage we were also informed by the consultant if we were to terminate the treatment early, they would not try again with my own eggs. Therefore we had to make the decision to terminate the treatment early and use donor eggs next time.
Having taken a few years out after recovering from my second hip replacement, we decided to go again this time we had to use donor eggs. We were lucky enough to get this round on the NHS due to not going through to collection stage on our previous round.. After an 18 month wait we were matched with a donor from which we managed to get 2 fertilsed embryos but they had to be frozen due to timing.
Unfortunately October 2019 our first embryo didn't stick which left us devastated. We took some time out and after many counselling sessions we were ready to go again. We had just started our injections and once again had to terminate early due COVID-19.
In May 2020 we were given the go ahead by the government to start again. Once again the embryo failed to implant even though we had taken extra measures by paying for time lapse imaging and embryo glue. This again left us devastated. After many conversations between us both, we had decided the next attempt would be our last due to the sheer emotional rollercoaster we have been on and expense. This brings us up to date with our journey.
IVF treatment is a very high expense when there is no guarantee. As we require an egg donor this makes the treatment twice as expensive. We have been lucky enough to find a doctor abroad who is willing to treat us and investigate in areas that the UK dont seem to want to entertain or is more expensive. They hold hope, so we do too. We ask for your support to help make this happen. Our dream to have baby Mac is all we can think of and for that we are taking our journey to the next level.
Next year, we are taking our IVF (donor egg) journey to Crete. Where the success rates are much higher. If you would like to contribute to help make this happen and help us bring baby Mac home we would be beyond thankful and forever grateful. After years of suffering this would be our happy ending.
*Any moneys raised will be put towards blood tests, meds, scans, donors and eventual treatment.
We know the world of IVF is a gamble and nothing is guaranteed, so if we are not successful with this journey we hope we can bring some awareness into your lives about the true struggle and the pain on infertility.
We met on Crete, we married on Crete, lets try and make baby Mac on Crete.
Thank you once again ❤
