Our Angel Jerlin. Burial and Living Assistance
Don protégé
As many of you know, I am not one to ask for help, however as many of you also know, twenty-two years ago an angel graced our family in the form of a “nanny.” The term “nanny” seems to minimize the relationship we established with Jerlin Nineth Carrera Donado, as Jerlin was a surrogate mother to my children, a friend to me, and a family member to all of us. But most importantly, Jerlin taught me blind faith and love in a power greater than myself. Over a year ago, Jerlin was diagnosed with breast cancer and fought like a warrior to stay alive. Tragically, her cancer ravaged her body and she passed away this morning 12/28/2020. Today, as the rained poured down, I could not help but think that the heavens were crying for those she has left behind, her husband Francisco, her parents, two older sisters, and four children, Samantha (21), Daniel (14), Gabriela (12), and Joshua (9).
God was the cornerstone of Jerlin’s existence and she touched everyone around her with her unwavering faith. Towards the end of her life, which at age 44, ended far too early, she was known to say, “If I live, I will live for him; and if I die, I will die with him.” Jerlin was extremely kind, nurturing, as well an excellent mother, caretaker, and friend. Jerlin was an angel on earth and she is now leading the chorus of other angels in heaven.
We know that this has been a challenging year for all of you, but we humbly ask you to help in any way, large or small, so the Carrera family can bury their wife, mother, daughter, and sister with the dignity and respect she deserves. Any funds that are remaining will go to meet the basic needs of this family who are suffering deeply.
With love and appreciation,
