I hope this message finds you well. My name is Oscar Caballero, and I am a Transition Year student at Oatlands College in Stillorgan, Dublin. I am excited to share that I have been shortlisted, along with 15 other students, to travel as part of a volunteer group to Tanzania in October 2025. We will be working with the Teretta Foundation, under the leadership of Lenore Good.

Our mission is to help construct a safe house for primary school children in the Kilimanjaro area who have suffered from sexual and physical abuse. By providing these children with a secure home, we aim to change the trajectory of their futures and offer them the opportunity to experience a life free from fear.

The Teretta Foundation is dedicated to protecting vulnerable children, ensuring they have the chance to simply be children and live in a loving, protective environment. The foundation currently provides shelter for 48 children and aims to expand its capacity to house 96 at-risk children in dormitory-style accommodations. They have already built one classroom and a dormitory, and our goal is to support the construction of another classroom.

During our trip, our Transition Year group will assist the foundation by:

Building a new classroom.

Purchasing and delivering essential supplies to local communities.

Visiting a disability center with the outreach organization Maisha, which creates custom-made wheelchairs for children.

Providing much-needed supplies to new mothers and their babies at a local maternity hospital.

Additionally, we will have the incredible opportunity to spend two days climbing Mount Kilimanjaro!

To make this mission a reality, I need to raise €3,500 to cover essential expenses, including travel, sustenance, and supplies for the charity. Any contribution you can make will be immensely appreciated and will go a long way in supporting our efforts to make a positive impact on these children's lives.
