Please help us with Oreos vet bill and cremation x

***FURTHER UPDATE - 18th August 2023**

The vets rang me yesterday with our bill...it's heading up towards £2000. Said I had to pay £500 there and then otherwise they wouldn't have been able to send him to the crematorium on Monday . It feels like an awful dream that I will never wake up from. Luckily the money in this fundraiser covered that, but we have a way to go.
Please everyone, keep sharing as much as you can. Thank you .

**UPDATE**
Still feeling like this is a bad dream and I will wake up and have him here to snuggle, then it breaks my heart all over again to know he is never going to be able to mend my broken heart, to give me hugs and just be here.
I have just this morning spoken to the vets, and they've given me a bill update. We are currently on £1580 without cremation costs, so please keep sharing this fundraiser far and wide. We really do appreciate it ❤️

**UPDATE**

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this update.
Unfortunately last night our little beau baby could no longer fight, he was suffering too much. His little tiny body was trying so hard to fight but he just couldn't carry on, he suffered multiple organ failures and we lost him around 8pm.

To say we are devastated is an understatement. I am absolutely heartbroken, my heart is shattered into a million pieces. I miss him so much. He was a part of me, my little shadow, he's been there for me throughout everything, and I didn't make it to him in time last night, to say goodbye and tell him how much I'll always love him . I'm really struggling with that right now.

If it is okay with everyone that has offered support, would you mind if we use the donations towards Oreos medical bills from yesterday and his cremation costs? It would be a huge help for us.

Thank you all for your love and support

Hello, I'm Kirsty, myself, my partner and little boy have a little pug called Oreo.
Oreo turned 4 a few weeks ago and in the last few months he has gotten really poorly.
He developed a large lump under his jaw, and following a visit to the vet, we ended up in Davies Specialist Pet Hospital in Hitchin.
Whilst there he underwent various blood tests and CT Scans and it was thought that he had an Immune Mediated Disease - a healthy dog should have 150 platelets, Oreo had none at all so he was very high risk of bleeding out - after 8 days staying in hospital, he was sent home on medication and steroids and told he would need 3 weekly bloods to check his platelets.
Luckily we have pet insurance as his bill came to over £7500, but unfortunately the stay in hospital maxed our insurance and it won't renew until November.
Which brings me to now - last night my little baby boy spent the early hours being very sick...over 20 times in the space of 4/5 hours.
I took him to the vets, and she told me she was very worried about him, and that she was very concerned with his breathing. She had me sign a consent form for treatment and said she would call.
I paid for bloods and x-rays (another £600) and left my baby there, hoping for good news.
I've just heard from the vet and its not good news at all.
Our little baby has developed diabetes (partially because of the high dose of steroids he is on to manage his condition, and she mentioned something about genetic tendancies?)
He also has pancreatitis and blood in his vomit.
She also said he is dealing with gaestroententis and that he is in a crisis situation at the moment.
They have managed to stabilise his blood sugars for now, but she said she doesn't know if they can pull him through, but to give him a fighting chance, he needs to be transferred to Davies again .
The problem with this is that it's an estimated bill of £10,000 and now his insurance is maxed we simply don't have that kind of money laying around.
I cannot let my baby die, so we are trying to do everything we can go raise the funds.
Thank you so much for reading this far, I appreciate it ❤️
