Two weeks ago Wally suffered an injury that impaired his ability to walk.  Last week he lost use of his hind legs. A visit to the veterinarian led to a referral to the neurologist who diagnosed Wally with a herniated disc.  The treatment options for him were medical management or an MRI followed by surgery.  I tried medical management, because I could not afford the surgery, but there has been no improvement of his symptoms. In fact, today he is fighting a urinary tract infection, a complication that can occur because the same nerve that innervates his leg muscles also tells him he needs to pee. 

The donations we receive will be used for the MRI and surgery, so that Wally can walk again! Our goal is that surgery will happen as soon as possible. 

Wally is 5 years old. Before he was injured, he enjoyed daily walks out on the trail and playing with our other dogs,  as well as his dog friends. Now,  he has to be pushed in a stroller to enjoy the outdoors and  he requires around the clock care .  He is too young to be debilitated. He brings a lot of joy to our family and we love him very much! We believe that he still has a long happy life to live!
