Operation Surround for Hickman-Humphreys County

Today there are people who are going home a little different as a result of what they witnessed at the site of the AES explosion on the Hickman County/Humphreys County line. There are those at home tonight who are hoping beyond all hope that somehow it wasn’t their loved one not coming home tonight. You could see the hurt, shock and concern across the faces of those behind the lines of disaster today. Emergency personnel, law enforcement and other agencies and volunteers working frantically to find answers for everyone.

In prayer I thought of those workers who were just getting off work at AES today, (due to the shift change as I understand), grateful that they had cleared the building prior to the deadly blast. And there are those who wished their loved ones had been the ones leaving this morning instead of going in.

Both those connected to the ones going in and those who are home safe tonight going out are going to need us to SURROUND them with love, support and prayers.

I’m in my first thoughts tonight for kicking off a fundraiser based out of Maury County for the families impacted by unbelievable tragedy today. But I ask that you keep this word, SURROUND in mind and heart tonight and the coming days.

We are the surrounding counties who need to surround the hurting and broken tonight with love and support and prayers. If you feel like picking this task up in your county, please let’s talk. Not for the sake of some publicity or campaign but to find tangible ways to HELP.

Psalm 34 says the Lord is NEAR to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit.
