My name is Wendy Rodriguez
...............and this is my horrific story.....
On the morning of March 1st 2015 I was awoken by my Boyfriend/Fiancè, suffering from a violent seizure. I jumped out of bed to assist him, still half asleep i attempted to give him aid... The room was still dark. We believe this was the moment that Blinky, the family pet of more than ten years and the past two with myself, mistook this as an attack on my boyfriend who raised him from birth.....
The attack was so brutal that I had to be airlifted by chopper to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek California. I suffered extensive injuries to my Face, Neck, Head, Arms, and Legs. I was told that i had to be resuscitated on the helicopter ride there!!Upon arriving to the Trauma Center immediate blood tranfusions and surgeries were needed. After about a week in ICU it was determined by a team of doctors that the only way I could continue to live ,was to amputate my left arm!!!!
My injuries are so serious mentally and physically that I am going to need Reconstructive Surgery and Extensive Rehabilitation.
At this time we have NO INSURA
NCE and we are waiting to hear from Emergency MediCal...
That being said we are reaching out to family, friends, and any concerned people who would like to help us during this life changing and challenging time......#WENDYSWARRIORS ....#TEAMWENDY
As a result of this horrible accident my fiancé made the decision to surrender Blinky to Animal Care and Control where he was euthanized. We are terribly sorry that this happened and he will be missed dearly....
