Oil Press for dear friend in West Africa

Donation protected
OK folks, hear me out. I have recently researched and presented on how the Ukraine War will affect global food prices for my work. And it literally made me sick to my stomach. What I found is that Russia and Ukraine export nearly 50% of the world's sunflower oil for cooking. And because of the war, pandemic, lack of supply chains and lack of fertilizer coming in the next year there is going to be a rise in global hunger, and I can't fix that, but I also can't sit idly by. And of course, developing countries are going to bear the brunt of this. The help I am asking for is not for me, but for a friend.

As some of you know, I have worked in West Africa, many years ago, and have a dear friend; a hard working, agriculturally minded friend there, that I have kept in touch with, and I am frankly worried for him, his family's and their country's well being.

In The Gambia, they are heavily reliant on oil for cooking their food. And with this global shortage of sunflower oil, coupled with other exporting countries banning exports of their oil (Indonesia and their palm oil), I fear for those most vulnerable.

(And frankly, I'm disgusted with Elon mask wasting $44B on Twitter and Johnny Depp blowing millions on his dirty divorce while the world is facing eminent rising food shortages and I just need a "happy project" to focus my energy on.)

So, I have spoken with my friend, and have brainstormed with him an idea that could potentially give him and his family a source of income in this upcoming food shortage. And I have helped him in the past with education expenses and other purchase of a water pump to irrigate his crops, but I can't do this one alone.

I have never done this before, but I am asking you to consider donating what you would spend on a cup of coffee to this cause, no more, no less. We are trying to raise enough money to purchase an oil extractor and a generator to help my friend, Adama though the next bleak months of rising food costs and potential famine in his country. I will fill in the balance to ensure this happens for him.

I can personally vouche for Adama. I have known him for almost 20 years now and he has a family of 4 to provide for and is one of the most hardworking and agriculturally dedicated humans I have ever met. Ever. I know he will make good use of this and provide a local source of oil for his family, community and potentially his country in a time of need. He just needs a leg up and a Canadian dollar goes a lot farther than a Dalasi.

If you have read this far, thank you in advance. I hope you will consider a small donation that will make a HUGE difference in someone's life.

Thank you and much love!
