Official Carlton Muhammad (Ausar Sahu) Memorial

My cousin, Carlton Muhammad (AKA Ausar Sahu) lost his battle to COVID-19. We know that “A wonderful Book of Life ended too soon.” Our family expected Carlton Muhammad (AKA- Ausar Sahu) to return from the hospital and continue loving and laughing as he always did. However, his battle ended on November 5, 2021. Carlton was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, cousin, coach and life of the party to a host of friends. “Carlton was devoted to so many people and based on the calls and stories we have heard, he touched many more lives than any of us can imagine. I truly believe he was sent here to bless people experiencing life issues or to simply make their soul rejoice in hearty laughter. Now I understand why he never sat still, was always busy and on the go.” Longtime friend, Yulonda Brown shared as she reminisces about her friend.

Prior to catching COVID-19, Carlton was battling several health issues as well as a work-related injury that required him to be off work for a great period. Eventually, he lost his job because he could not return to work at the requested time. With the loss of his job, came the loss of ALL of his benefits including health and life insurance. Shortly after, the savings he thought would be enough to sustain his household until he could report to his new job, were depleted. Right around the corner of his anticipated start date, COVID-19 took his body hostage and never let go. It was a brutal battle and on November 5, 2021, Carlton surrendered to the will of God. Carlton’s Book of Life has reached its final chapter and we are truly depending on his family, friends, and other loved ones to assist in raising funds for Homegoing Celebrations in Atlanta and St. Louis. We truly desire services for family and friends in both cities to help provide closure to all who loved him. We thank everyone in advance for your love and support.
