Officer Goggins Medical Fund

On April 15, 2018 Officer Goggins with the Lynchburg Police Department, was directing traffic at the intersection of Timberlake Rd and Graves Mill Rd due to the devastating damage Lynchburg received from the tornado. At approximately 2116 hours, Officer Goggins was struck by a motor vehicle. Due to the impact from the vehicle, Officer Goggins broke the windshield and lost consciousness when his head made contact with the pavement.

Medics in the area observed the crash and Officer Goggins lying in the road and were able to give immediate assistance. 

Officer Goggins was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital where he is still under care for his injuries. He has undergone many tests, x-rays, ct scans, and MRIs. The medical staff at LGH has not determined the extent of his injuries; however, he is in stable condition. Throughout everything that has taken place over the last twenty-four hours, he is in good spirits. Due to his injuries we are not sure how long he will be out of work.
