Support Javen’s Fight Against Autoimmune Disease
Don protégé
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I'm reaching out to you today on behalf of a dear friend, Javen Mirabella, who has been facing an incredibly challenging journey since the beginning of this year. Javen has been hospitalized three times since 2024 started, each time bringing new uncertainties and difficulties for him and his family.
Javen is not just a name on a medical chart; he's a devoted husband to a wonderful wife and a loving father to two beautiful daughters, Ayanna, age 11, and Soniya, age 2. Since February 6th, Javen has been battling an illness that has left doctors puzzled. What we do know is that his own immune system is attacking itself, resulting in the myelin sheath around his nerves being eaten away. This has caused extreme pain, an inability to walk unassisted, lack of sensation throughout his body, complete numbness in his extremities, lack of dexterity in his hands, and blood pressure issues. Despite this, Javen has shown remarkable courage and resilience.
Javen and his wife have been missionaries for over a decade, selling all they had, sacrificing their time and health to help others. They have traveled the world, spreading the Gospel, encouragement, and the word of God to those in need, enduring numerous injuries, including Javen breaking his back on the mission field. Even during his hospital stays, Javen continues to prioritize the needs of others above his own, praying for over 100 people and sharing words of hope and faith.
However, amidst his selflessness, Javen and his family have needs of their own that many may not be aware of. Some treatments for autoimmune diseases have caused allergic reactions, and symptoms seem to be reoccurring more rapidly with each hospital discharge. This leads to further testing, treatments, and medical expenses. The financial strain of these expenses, coupled with the fact that not everything is covered by insurance, adds another layer of burden to Javen and his family.
We are reaching out to our community for support during this challenging time. If you can find time to pray, that is the most important thing to do. Pray for healing, wisdom, peace, and discernment as Javen and his family walk through this difficult season. Additionally, if you are able, consider making a donation. Your contribution will directly support Javen and his family as they navigate this journey. Now is our opportunity to give back to Javen and his family for all the times they have blessed us through their selflessness, faith, and compassion.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Your support means more than words can express.
