Hi, my name is Brandon Harrison. And my apartment was the apartment that burned down in Clay, NY on Feb 28. The damage was bad. It was started by what we believe was a space heater that was given to me since my heat was broken during the winter. This sent my apartment in flames. Destroying absolutely everything I own. From thousands of dollars of clothes, art, my 6 year old sons toys, and sentimental things from dead relatives. However I am not here to monetize off of this tragedy to replace my material goods. My 3 year old holland lop Odafin was trapped in the apartment and lost some of his fur, and has some respiratory damage cause from the smoke inhalation. Luckily he was a free range bunny and wasn’t trapped in a cage and was able to make his way out of the apartment as first responders came in. He was also such a good bun and stayed by the door until an officer picked him up and returned him too me. Definitely not in his best condition but alive and breathing… I immediately rushed him to Cornell University where he is currently in an oxygen tank and being stabilized from his injuries.

I got Finny three years ago when i got sober from Heroin and moved into my apartment. I was very down on my luck entering sobriety after i had lost everything of mine due to addiction. And I sincerely believed i would never have to go through losing everything again. Back then i craved a companion. Since then we have fallen in love. When he first came home with me he was terrified of me and wouldn't even let me near him. Three years later and that bunny trusts me with his whole life and proved that today in that fire when he came to me after i saw him. If i lose my bunny i will have lost everything and i will be alone. And i am trying to get help to do whatever we can to get him to recover. Anything helps. I just need some help to cover his vet bills thats all. I could care less about my material goods. Im a strong person and that energy has rubbed off on my finny. Hes a little fighter. I dont want to lose him because the bills are too much. I will keep everyone updated. Thank you!
