Oaxaca Medical Missions

We are a group of volunteer physicians, dentists, and lay workers that have been involved in medical missions for approximately 20 years. We are gearing up for our next annual medical outreach in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Our hope is to be able to do a larger outreach this year, but we need your help in providing  the necessary equipment, such as pharmaceuticals, dental supplies and help subsidize the travel expenses of the Mexican medical volunteers.

There are 140 different dialects spoken in Oaxaca and the indigenous population in Mexico receive almost no governmental help for health care. These indigenous  people are some of the poorest of the poor. Their medical needs are great, but, because of poverty and geographic isolation, their needs are not met. 

Our team is primarily focuses on the indigenous people up in the remote mountain villages, as well as the local prisons. We are trying to raise funds to purchase pharmaceuticals (antibiotics, pain medications, worm medicines, diabetes medications, blood pressure medicines, vitamins, etc.) as well as portable dental equipment to provide examinations, cleanings, and extractions.
