My name is Dante Richardson. I am a father, a son, a tech entrepreneur, and a proud American living in Niagara Falls, New York.
I am sharing my story today because my life was nearly taken and by the grace of God, I am still here.
What Happened
Recently, while driving on the NYS I-190 highway, I was shot three times in what authorities have described as a targeted attack. In a matter of moments, my life changed forever. I survived an incident that could have easily ended my life, and I do not take that lightly.
I truly believe Jesus Christ spared my life for a reason. In the middle of chaos, fear, and pain, God’s hand was on me. I am alive today because of His mercy, and I intend to honor that gift.
Why I Entered Public Life
Last year, I stepped into public life as a Republican committed to truth, accountability, and moral courage. I ran for office because I believe the people of Niagara Falls deserve honest leadership, transparency, and an end to corruption that has held our city back for generations from same party rule.
I chose to speak openly about entrenched systems, backroom politics, and practices that harm everyday residents. I refused to stay silent or fall in line. I challenged corruption because I believe government should serve the people not political insiders, not special interests, and not power for its own sake.
I understood that standing against corruption would come with resistance. What I did not believe and will never accept is that doing the right thing should put someone’s life at risk.
Speaking Truth Comes at a Cost
Since entering the political arena, I have faced strong opposition for standing firm in my beliefs and refusing to compromise my principles. While investigations into the attack remain ongoing, this experience has made one thing painfully clear:
Violence and intimidation have no place in a nation founded on faith, freedom, and the right to speak truth without fear.
Disagreements in politics must be resolved through dialogue, elections, and accountability not through force or fear.
The Extent of My Injuries
As a result of being shot three times, I sustained severe, life-altering injuries that required emergency medical care and multiple surgeries, including spinal surgery.
One bullet caused extensive damage to my left arm and elbow, shattering the joint and severely limiting my ability to use my arm. I also suffered significant nerve damage, affecting strength, sensation, and motor control.
Most critically, a bullet struck my lower spine, causing spinal trauma that has directly impacted my ability to walk and fully control my legs. Surgeons were required to remove a bullet lodged near my spine, and I now face a long and uncertain recovery.
At this time:
• My mobility has been significantly affected
• I am undergoing ongoing medical evaluations
• I am experiencing nerve-related complications
• I require continued rehabilitation and physical therapy
Simple daily tasks that once came naturally now require assistance, patience, and perseverance. My doctors have been clear that recovery will be slow, intensive, and ongoing.
This is not a short-term setback it is a long road toward healing.
Why I’m Asking for Help
Surviving this attack has created an overwhelming financial burden at a time when my ability to work, move freely, and provide for my family has been deeply impacted.
This GoFundMe has been created to help cover:
• Medical expenses, including hospitalization, surgeries, rehabilitation, and ongoing care
• Legal fees necessary to protect my rights and properly navigate the aftermath
• Personal security costs to ensure safety for myself and my family during this vulnerable period
These are expenses no one ever expects but they are now essential for my recovery, stability, and peace of mind.
Faith Over Fear
Throughout this journey, I have leaned heavily on my faith. Scripture reminds me daily:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?”
— Psalm 27:1
I refuse to be broken by fear.
I refuse to be silenced by violence.
I choose faith.
My focus now is on healing physically, spiritually, and emotionally so I can continue being present for my children and walk fully in the purpose God has placed on my life.
How You Can Help
Any support you are able to give whether through a donation or simply sharing this page means more than I can express. Every contribution helps lift the burden and allows me to focus on recovery, safety, and faith.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and for standing with me during this incredibly difficult time.
God bless you,
— Dante Richardson
