Fundraising for Poverty

Tax deductible
Hunger is rarely caused by food shortages. Rather, those suffering are simply unable to pay for their meals. COVID-19 has introduced greater uncertainty for those already subjected to starvation and forces families just over the poverty line to wonder where their next meal will come from. Research suggests that an increased intensity of COVID-19 could result in well over 10 million new Americans suffering from food insecurity. We aim to raise money for the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee so they may supply those in need with daily meals. For every dollar donated, Second Harvest Food Bank will be able to provide approximately three meals. This means that even the smallest donations can make a significant impact on easing the suffering caused by poverty.

The Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, a member of Feeding America, has worked to compassionately feed the hungry since 1982. Nearly one million Americans suffering from food insecurity call Tennessee home and in fiscal year 2019, Second Harvest distributed 20 million pounds of food across 18 East Tennessean counties. Through feeding programs and 550+ nonprofit partners, Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee provides food to more than 143,000 children, adults and seniors each month.

All funds are directly delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.
