North Devon District Hospital SCBU

Hello Everyone,

Firstly, thank you to each and every one of you who has clicked on this link to read our story.

Each year, we at Blakes Coaches choose a different local charity to raise money for and this year is a very special one, close to Hannah & Nick’s hearts… The Special Care Baby Unit, North Devon District Hospital.

On 10th December 2022, Olivia Lily Marland was born. Although Olivia wasn’t a premature baby, she was a poorly baby who needed extra care when she was born.

When Olivia was born she contracted a viral and bacterial sepsis infection and as well as being jaundiced, spent the first 5 days of her life in SCBU.

Adie and Charlotte looked after her on shift patterns and were just incredible. Not only were they doing their jobs looking after Olivia, they were there for both Hannah & Nick as new parents watching over their daughter in an incubator.

Olivia made a full recovery, quicker than they all thought and is now a happy, healthy, smiley baby!

So, without hesitation, this years Charity who we are raising money in aid of is Northern Devon District Hospitals SCBU and every donation will help, big or small. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

Your donation will make a huge difference for patients by improving the hospital environment, buying medical equipment and helping us to give something back when they helped us so much.

Over the past 18 years, Blakes Coaches has raised almost £92,000 for local charities and we would love to be able to get even closer to our £100k goal.
