Nicki Needs Us: Facing Cancer Together

It is with a heavy heart that I share some heartbreaking news. My best friend Mackenzie’s mom, Nicki, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. For those who know us, you will know how close they both are to me. Nicki has been like a second mom. I lived with them for a couple of years during COVID, and I am still in shock over this diagnosis. It has turned both Nicki’s and Mackenzie’s lives upside down.

Just last year, Mackenzie was an American Idol finalist, sharing their incredible bond and the rollercoaster of the entertainment industry with the world. Now, they face a different kind of challenge—one that no one is ever truly prepared for.

Nicki’s diagnosis could have potentially been detected sooner if there had been more awareness about the necessary exams and screenings for women with dense breast tissue.

Next week, Nicki will undergo surgery, marking the start of what will be a challenging journey filled with treatment and recovery. Unfortunately, this battle comes with significant medical expenses, and Nicki will be unable to work during this time.

Please help and support trying to take away the financial burden for Nicki and her amazing family, so she’s able to get the best care possible. Giving some peace of mind and one less thing to worry about.
