Neighbors Lost Homes in Altadena Blaze
Spende geschützt
Hello, we are Angela and Corbin. Residents of Altadena, in Jane’s village. The fires in Altadena engulfed our whole street. The only thing left were downed electrical lines, piles of rubble, smoke and ash.
It was not supposed to be this way, but our house was the only one on our side of the street to survive. It was a miracle and blessing that I cannot explain but it doesn’t feel right.
We moved to Altadena last spring and we were welcomed with open arms by our neighborhood and neighbors.
They watched out for us and brought our kids gifts. We were so shocked by the warmth, hospitality and kindness they showed us.
But our neighbors lost everything in this destructive fire. Our neighbor to the right, Carl and Desiree lost their family
home passed down from generations. They had just finished building that fence around their home that we feel contributed to saving our home.
And our neighbor to the left, Freddy, lost his loved home of over 20 years. He put a lot of tender love and care in tending to his home and yard. He also built a metal fence that we feel provided protection to our home.
In a blink of an eye, these homes were gone. All gone. It is devastating, heartbreaking, gut wrenching to know the loss they are feeling.
I am setting up a gofundme to help out my kind neighbors. These kind, loving souls do not deserve this tragedy and loss and we are here to help them in any capacity we can.
Please consider making a donation. The funds donated will help them with healing and continuing their lives and general relief.
We are here to help the healing of our community.
Thank you.
