Hi - this is Acacia and Pete.
Pete especially has been an Australian rock climber for a long time and we love Natimuk! Mt Arapiles and the Natimuk community is amazing and people with whom we have life-long friendships. We are sure that many people around Australia and around the world - the international climbing community love Nati and Mt Arapiles. They have given us so much! Now it is our turn to give. After the absolutely devastating fires of early January 2026 - this community needs our support! Over 20 homes were lost over the last 24 hours from 9 January 2026 until late on 10 January 2026. Let's GIVE BACK to Natimuk - the amazing community of people who have created this awesome scene. Today our generous donors have brought the amount to over $8,000. We are updating the plan so that the Lions Club of Natimuk receives the funds and will carefully distribute in the Natimuk Community. Thank you!
NATIMUK COMMUNITY FIRE RECOVERY FUND will be used for:
- immediate supplies for individuals and families affected by the fire
- essential clothing and materials replacement
- pharmaceuticals
- white goods
- covering insurance excess for affected families
- clearing and disposing of the rubble from the fires
- some meals at the local pubs
- temporary accommodation costs in Natimuk or nearby
- anything that the community decides is essential to help out
- counselling and other health services
NATIMUK LIONS CLUB WILL KEEP A SPREADSHEET OF ALL DONATIONS AND HOW THE MONIES ARE DISBURSED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR DONATIONS ARE SAFE AND SPENT AS INTENDED BY THE COMMUNITY.
All decisions about disbursing donated funds will be made by the Natimuk Lions Club in conversation with the Natimuk Community.
